The Day for "Let It Die" (by Feist)

I wanna say that Today is the day for "Let It Die".
Because all of sudden, this song is playing around my ears in this deep night.
Why ?
Why this song ?
Of course, I don't know as always.
One of my e-mail ID's nick is still "Let It Die" .
I just love it.
I mean that I just love this expression "Let It Die".
Let Let Let means so many things to me.
Let it go, Let it flow, Let her cry, let you down...
sometimes they need "Don't" just before "Let" .
That's the way I love English - of corse sometimes.
More to go, leave me alone.
"Let It Die" is still bothering me ...
So beautiful song... is just around the corner of my mind.

이 외의 다른 곡들은 나와는 전혀 다른 부류들이 열광한다.

 

후배로부터 우연한 기회에 Feist의 데뷔음반을 받았고,
2005 캐나다 주노 어워즈 올해의 신인/앨범상을 받은
캐나다 출신 싱어송라이터라는 말에 혹해서
앨범을 처음부터 끝까지 들어보고는
그 음색과 다중인격이 내재된 듯 다양하고 짜임새있는 전체 앨범 구성에 매료되었었다.

물론, 공신력있는 어워즈에서 수상을 했다고 무조건 좋은 음악은 아니지만, Feist는 그럴만하다.
처음엔 다소 템포감이 있는 (지금은 국내 CF 배경음악으로도 꽤 익숙한) 그런 곡들을 좋아했었는데,
듣고 또 듣다보니 앨범 타이틀이기도 한 Let It Die가 내게 주는
그 강렬함과 절박함은 그 어느 곡도 따라올 수 없었다.

분위기만 따진다면 음산하고 음울하기까지 하다.
그래서 언제부턴가 'The saddest part of a broken heart '를 웅얼거리게 되었다.
짧고 강렬하고 그 뒤에 남는 강한 여운.
때문에 한번 듣고 good-bye 하지 못하고 다시 repeat를 하게 된다.

 

 

 

 

 

그냥 온전히 듣고 싶을 때 좋아하는 음악을 들을 것이다.

결국은 파묻힐 결과나 정보 따위 중요치 않다.
